Mixed Berry Summer Frosé
It sure is hot out there and I was looking for something refreshing, elegant and sweet to serve to my girl friends. Having seen "Frosé" all over social media I was tempted to try it myself.
The first round wasn't that successful, I blended 1 bottle of rose with about 3 cups of ice - it did form a slush consistency but was relatively bland and had a watered down. I decided we needed to amp up the flavour and give it some sweetness.
I also wanted to try a different method in terms of gaining the slush consistency, I decided to pour a bottle of rosé into a baking tray and freeze it in order to not dilute the rosé with too much ice.
I added sweetness in the form of a few tablespoons of my mixed berry jam along with a few mint leaves. The results are delicious! The perfect summer treat.
Ingredients:
1 bottle of rosé
3 tbsp of mixed berry jam OR a cup of fresh berries and 2 tbsp of honey/simple syrup OR 3 TBLSP of fruit cordial syrup
6/7 mint leaves
1/2 cup of ice
1) Pour the bottle of rosé into a baking tray and place into the freezer for a few hours until frozen
2) Once frozen break up and transfer into a blender with the remaining ingredients - serve immediately
